The Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant (General) to join our growing team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial management, compliance with statutory obligations, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
* Assist in developing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and expenditure across disability support, allied health, and community care service areas.
* Maintain accurate general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related financial records.
* Reconcile bank accounts, funding receipts, participant revenue, and supplier accounts to ensure accuracy of financial data.
* Prepare BAS, taxation records, and other compliance-related financial documentation in accordance with Australian statutory requirements.
* Support external accountants, auditors, and management with year-end reporting, audit preparation, and financial investigations where required.
* Analyse operating costs, service delivery expenditure, and organisational income to support business planning and decision-making.
* Monitor cash flow and provide advice to management on financial performance, cost control, and budgeting outcomes.
* Maintain internal financial controls, accounting procedures, and record-keeping systems to support compliance and governance requirements.
* Assist with the review, implementation, and ongoing improvement of accounting software and financial reporting systems.
* Liaise with banks, accountants, auditors, and other external stakeholders on financial and compliance matters.
* Provide financial insights to support the sustainable delivery of NDIS, allied health, and community-based services.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as an Accountant
* Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation regulations
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB)
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
* CPA/CA qualification (or working towards) is highly regarded
