The Pastry Lounge is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Pastry Chef Assistant. Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm
Responsibilities:
Assist in Pastry Production: Support the pastry team in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries.
Ingredient Preparation: Assist with measuring, weighing, and preparing ingredients according to recipes and production requirements.
Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
Follow Food Safety Standards: Adhere to food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Assist with Inventory: Help monitor inventory levels, assist with stock rotation, and notify management of ingredient needs as necessary.
Collaborate with Team: Work closely with pastry chefs and other team members to execute orders efficiently and meet production deadlines.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a pastry or bakery setting is preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, equipment, and ingredients.
Ability to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and passion for pastry.
