Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge?
Mornington Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our established and supportive team.
This role will primarily involve working in Key Stage 1, with a strong focus on providing one-to-one support for a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Flexibility and a hardworking attitude are essential, as the role may also include supporting other children with SEND across the phase. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of working in a school environment, supporting both classes and individual pupils, and will demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for improving outcomes for all learners. A tolerant and compassionate nature, along with a good sense of humour, would be a great asset to our team.
The Successful Candidate Will Need To Be
* An excellent Teaching Assistant who is passionate about inspiring children to achieve high standards and reach their full potential.
* A strong team player who can work collaboratively with others and contribute to the school's ethos and improvement initiatives.
* Enthusiastic and positive in their approach to supporting teaching and learning.
* Committed to maintaining high expectations for both themselves and the children they support.
* Passionate about educating and developing the whole child, both academically and personally.
* Able to promote inclusion effectively and maintain high expectations for all pupils, regardless of background or ability.
* Confident and experienced in working 1:1 with children, providing tailored support that meets individual needs and fosters progress both academically and emotionally.
In Return, We Can Offer You
* A friendly, hardworking, and supportive team of staff and governors.
* Support and guidance from experienced colleagues.
* A caring, purposeful working environment with supportive families.
* A committed and collaborative team, focused on continual improvement.
* A strong, shared commitment to improving outcomes for all our children.
* Well-resourced classrooms that support effective teaching and learning.
* Enthusiastic, kind, and curious children who love to learn.
* Excellent opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD).
On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position.
Visits to the school are strongly encouraged and highly recommended. Please call the Office Staff on 0115 9757745 to arrange a visit. For further information regarding the post, or to arrange an informal discussion about the post, please contact Mrs Rebecca Joyce at head@morningtonprimary.org or call 0115 9757745.
The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process and this may include online searches.
We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 9:00am on Friday 29th August 2025.
Interviews to be held on Thursday 4th September 2025.
