The Position – Lead Contract Packages for Sustaining Capital Projects:
Boab Metals Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated Contract & Procurement Manager to join our Procurement & Supply team in Perth. Reporting to the Project Director, you will play a critical role in driving commercial excellence across our Sustaining Capital programs. This position is responsible for managing key contract packages, supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, and delivering high-value outcomes across our expanding portfolio.
In this role, you will optimise procurement processes, enhance commercial performance, and support the development and implementation of effective contracting strategies. Leveraging market insights and best-practice methodologies, you will help identify sourcing opportunities, strengthen supplier partnerships, and support cross-functional stakeholders to ensure end-to-end value delivery.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Support the management of contracts with a strong focus on KPIs, contractor performance analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Undertake end-to-end strategic sourcing aligned with business requirements and project needs.
- Apply sound commercial judgement when interpreting and implementing contractual terms and conditions.
- Provide full contract life-cycle support across all commercial and contractual activities.
- Assist in driving value delivery through performance improvement, cost optimisation, and risk-based contract management.
- Foster positive and productive supplier relationships, identifying opportunities for innovation, consolidation, and cost savings.
- Conduct detailed market analysis to ensure best-value sourcing for goods, services, and work packages.
- Work collaboratively with project teams and cross-functional stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business priorities.
- Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives and ensure security of supply across your contract and procurement portfolio.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in contracts management or category management within mining, construction, or related industries.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Experience developing and implementing sourcing strategies that deliver measurable business value.
- Solutions-focused mindset with a proactive attitude and the ability to influence positive outcomes.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar procurement/ERP systems, with the capability to support and guide system users.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing RFx documentation, undertaking negotiations, and managing commercial agreements.
- High-level computer literacy and robust written communication skills, including drafting contract and internal documentation.
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law (Contract Law), or a related discipline.
