Overview

The Perioperative Support Services team at the Department of Health Tasmania supports surgical and procedural operations at the Royal Hobart Hospital. The team works across Operating Theatres, Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA), Post Anaesthetic Recovery Unit (PARU), Endoscopy, and Short Stay Surgery Units. The team is collaborative, proactive, and focused on continuous professional development. Members work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to contribute to safe and effective patient care.


The Role

Perioperative Services encompasses Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA), Holding Bay, Operating Theatres, Procedure Rooms, Post Anaesthetic Recovery Unit (PARU), Short Stay Surgery — overnight and day areas, and the Endoscopy/Day Procedure Unit. As a member of the Perioperative Services operational support team, the Perioperative Support Services Officer provides cleaning, transport, administrative and other support services to ensure effective and efficient operation of the allocated area within Perioperative Services, contributing to safe quality patient care.


You will need to

* In accordance with Infection Control Guidelines clean surrounding environments and undertake general and infection control asset cleaning activities efficiently and effectively, including dismantling and cleaning of assets such as equipment, furniture, fridges and fixtures, and complete associated documentation related to the cleaning process as required.
* Provide transportation services for patient transfers using trolleys, wheelchairs and beds to all hospital departments including discharge to patient collection area when required.
* Assist nursing staff with preparation of patient care areas and utility support rooms, ensuring relevant equipment is present, clean and in working order.


Details of appointment

Permanent part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Note: the selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies for up to twelve months from the date of publication.


Salary

$63,110 to $66,049 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.


Salary Packaging

You'll have access to salary packaging with benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment per FBT year, plus other eligibility-based benefits.
