GRIDBOW ELECTRICAL POWER SOLUTIONS PTY LTD is in need of an Electrical Engineer (High Voltage).

Full time (Minimum 38 Hours Per Week), working out of base in Balcatta, Western Australia. The role will be responsible for undertaking projects across the state. Subject to work experience and skill, the position will be remunerated between $100,000 to $130,000 per annum PLUS Superannuation.
Task & responsibilities
* Prepare high‑level protection concept designs (substation secondary designs)
* Development of protection philosophies, selection of protection relays, protection logic, control, indications/alarms, and metering schemes
* Perform fault studies to prepare protection settings reports and relay configuration
* Review protection & control schematic drawings, and protection test reports and develop production study reports.
* Undertake detailed designs and assessments of protection equipment
* Develop, maintain and apply a working knowledge of relevant regulatory, engineering legislation, codes of practice, and standards
* Associated with protection systems
* Communicating with clients and contractors as part of tendering and ongoing projects.
* Develop relationships with key clients and provide business development support as needed
* Knowledge and experience of secondary systems circuitry design and HV power system protection schemes and principles
* Knowledge of power system fundamentals and fault analysis
* Experience in protection system construction and commissioning
* Knowledge of legislated industry requirements
* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders to resolve technical problems
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to enable you to provide commercially sound and pragmatic solutions
* Commissioning and testing all types of Protection Relay and functioning checks
* Development of functional Specifications and Design Protection Studies
* Experience in design of SCADA systems is an advantage
* Experience in sourcing, selection and integration of control systems hardware and associated cabling into substation design
* Design Management Experience
* Excellent project management and time management skills
* Excellent at managing internal and external client relationship
* In-depth understanding of power distribution system
* Commissioning of project electrical equipment.
* Technical study and model ownership of ETAP, Power Cad, SKM Power Tools and Digsilent Power Factory including:
o GPS Study
o Protection Coordination
o Load Flow
o Short Circuit
o Harmonic & Flicker
o Motor Starting
o Transient Stability
o Arc Flash
o Lightning Protection and Insulation Coordination
o Earthing Design
o Step and Touch Potential
o EPR
o Earth Grid Design
o Portable Earthing
o Relay configuration and protection setting calculations
o Protection and metering scheme design and upgrades
Qualification & experience
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Similar & minimum 1 + years of work post qualification work experience is a starting requirement.
