Primary Purpose of the Position This role supports financial performance through monthly management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis. The position is part of a small, high-performing team focused on delivering accurate and insightful financial information aligned with strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Accountability
* Provide advice on internal budgets and assist with issue resolution.
* Manage competing priorities, especially during tight month-end timeframes.
* Apply financial and management accounting expertise, including system use.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks.
* Collaborate with finance team members and divisional staff.
Management Diversity and Span
* Record and track action items from financial meetings with senior executives.
* Ensure quality outputs and support the development of technical expertise.
* Assist in financial planning and process development.
* Implement work plans, manage workflow, and allocate resources effectively.
Job Context and Environment
* Assist in preparing annual budgets and setting program budgets.
* Prepare monthly operational, project, and capital expenditure reports.
* Provide variance and trend analysis to support financial insights.
* Deliver monthly accruals and support automation and simplification initiatives.
* Maintain awareness of strategic and operational impacts on financial planning.
Independence and Decision-Making
* Work independently under limited direction to deliver quality outcomes.
* Make informed decisions on complex and sensitive tasks.
* Apply sound judgement and best practice principles.
* Conduct research and analysis to support long-term planning and issue resolution.

Essential Requirements
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a national police check.
* Australian Citizenship.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* CPA, CA, or equivalent accounting qualification (highly desired).
* Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Strong communication skills and ability to present financial information clearly.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
* Working knowledge of TM1 and SAP.
