About the Role

Sydney Local Health District is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. Our facilities and services are world class, and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.

The Clinical Programs Nurse Manager is responsible for providing leadership across SLHD to the portfolios aligned to the NSQHS Standard 6 – Communication for Safety and Standard 8 – Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration. The role is responsible for the implementation of programs relating to those portfolios, including the management of the corresponding committees, providing preparedness and assurance for accreditation against the NSQHS Standards, identifying opportunities for quality improvement, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory, policy and clinical standards.

On a typical day you will be providing stakeholder support and guidance, liaising with clinicians, managing serious incidents relating to these portfolios, and running reports to identify trends and issues. As a member of the District Clinical Governance Team, you will bring extensive experience in project management and implementation and will utilise those skills to ensure the delivery of NSW Health and District priorities and objectives. You will utilise your experience in health and/or qualifications to influence change and deliver excellence in patient safety and quality improvement.

Ideal Candidate

* Current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with relevant and extensive clinical experience in an acute health care setting and / OR tertiary level qualification in a health-related field and/or equivalent extensive experience in health-related clinical practice.
* Demonstrated high level knowledge of the principles of clinical governance, clinical risk management, patient safety, continuous practice and systems improvement.
* Experience in project management including an established track record in effectively delivering milestones, the ability to analyse data and information, and to develop and monitor plans for improvement.
* High level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
* Ability to effectively use a variety of clinical information systems and Microsoft products to delivery high quality reporting and safety intelligence.
