Payroll Manager within the NFP sector - start ASAP

This company is a leading service provider in the not-for-profit sector; they are committed to social inclusion and supporting community members to be empowered. They are seeking an immediately available (or on short notice) Payroll Manager to start ASAP. This role will be temp to start then transition to a permanent role.
Your new role
* Lead and manage a team of Payroll Officers to deliver accurate and timely payroll services.
* Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, including fortnightly pay runs, reconciliations, and compliance.
* Ensure correct interpretation and implementation of award conditions within payroll systems.
* Manage payroll reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and participate in payroll-related projects.
* Monitor legislative changes and ensure compliance with payroll laws.
* Manage month-end and end-of-year processes, including third-party payments (superannuation, workers compensation).
* Conduct UAT for technology changes impacting payroll.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience managing a payroll function in a complex environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a team.
* Sound knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations, ideally within the disability sector.
* High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and implement process improvements.
* Competence in payroll technology applications and award interpretation systems.
