ACCIONA Agua is a global leader in sustainable water solutions, delivering major desalination, wastewater and water‐treatment projects worldwide. As we expand our presence across South Australia, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical & Piping Engineer to join our team on the Eyre Peninsula supporting significant water infrastructure works.
About the Role
As a Senior M&P Engineer, you will play a key technical and leadership role in the design, coordination, delivery, installation and commissioning of mechanical and piping systems for large‐scale water infrastructure facilities. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, construction personnel, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure project excellence from concept through commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical and piping engineering design for desalination, treatment plants, and associated infrastructure.
* Develop and review P&IDs, layouts, specifications, engineering calculations, and equipment schedules.
* Coordinate with process, electrical, civil, and construction teams to ensure design integration and constructability.
* Provide technical expertise during procurement, fabrication, installation, onsite works, commissioning, and performance testing phases.
* Conduct risk assessments, HAZOP workshops, and design reviews.
* Oversee quality, compliance, and performance standards in line with ACCIONA's engineering governance.
* Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement across the project team.
Required Skills and Competencies
About You
You will thrive in this role if you bring:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* 8+ years' experience in mechanical and piping design—ideally within water, process, energy or heavy industrial sectors.
* Strong understanding of pumps, pressure systems, valves, piping materials, and water‐treatment processes.
* Experience working on EPC or D&C projects, including commissioning support.
* Strong communication, leadership, and problem‐solving skills.
* Ability to work onsite in Eyre Peninsula as required.
* Chartered status (or working toward) is highly regarded.
