Support and Encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Higher Education Inspire Future Leaders Work With an Amazing Team In this role you will provide leadership by empowering team members, coordinating and evaluating programs and activities undertaken to manage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student recruitment programs and activities. You will also co-ordinate the day-to-day activities of the Student Recruitment team and be responsible for the management of activities across Newcastle, Central Coast and Callaghan campuses. Collaborating closely with Wollotuka staff and a variety of teams across the university is essential to this role. This is an identified position, and applicants must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational qualification as authorised under Section 14(D) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act, 1977 NSW. This continuing position is a full-time continuing role at a HEW 7 level and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land). About the Unit The Wollotuka Institute supports innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration to facilitate the achievement of quality outcomes that prioritises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and in particular, prepares them to make a difference and to create impact within the University, in our communities and across the globe. The Student Recruitment team provides proactive advice and support to potential Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students on programs, courses, policies and procedures, and are responsible for implementing initiatives that encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to access higher education. A relevant degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a knowledge and understanding of the contributions, successes and challenges relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Demonstrated experience in student recruitment and capacity to develop marketing plans to recruit students. Ability to show leadership and exceptional interpersonal skills by empowering staff to meet high standards and delivery of targets whilst actively managing performance and KPIs to achieve positive outcomes. Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation and evaluation and successful completion of funding reporting requirements. Current NSW Driver’s Licence The successful applicant will be required to undergo a Working With Children Check and a National Police Check. Supporting Documentation.
