Role purpose and team
We are seeking an experienced Senior Physiotherapist to join the Care of Older People in Surgery (COPS) service. The successful candidate will work with geriatrics and surgical teams to deliver holistic, timely care to patients aged 75 and over with a frailty score of 3 or higher, aiming to reduce post-operative complications, facilitate early discharge, and improve outcomes. A strong background in supervising and educating junior staff and students is essential, along with commitment to service planning, implementation, and evaluation.
This role is ideal for a clinician with substantial post-graduate experience in managing complex respiratory cases among geriatric and post-surgical patients.
What you will bring to the role
* Degree in Physiotherapy and current National Physiotherapy Registration with AHPRA.
* Significant post graduate experience in Physiotherapy, with substantial experience in Surgical & Aged Care physiotherapy
* Demonstrated teaching skills and supervision experience with staff and students
* Demonstrated experience in the development of clinical physiotherapy policies and procedures
* Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, time management, and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
* Commitment to professional development and knowledge of Quality Improvement and Evidence Based Practice
* Ability to provide advice to service managers on clinical service development, practice and design in response to demands and stakeholder needs in relation to a Physiotherapy service
