A day in the life of a Community and Recreation Disability Support Worker at Yooralla
Supporting clients in achieving their goals through a variety of activities, including:
* Participating in recreation and social activities
* Shopping, appointments, and events
* Engaging in meaningful relationships
* Providing daily living and personal care, including meal prep, hygiene, and mobility assistance
We are looking for passionate individuals with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn. You will:
* Be available to work 2-4 days per week
* Have experience supporting clients with epilepsy and/or asthma
* Possess a positive approach, initiative, and self-motivation
* Be committed to empowering clients and upholding quality and safeguards
* Have effective communication skills and good English literacy
* Work well in a diverse team
* Support clients with personal care activities
* Hold an Australian Driver Licence
* Have the right to work in Australia
* Be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certificates if not already certified
Qualifications like a Certificate IV in Disability, relevant work experience, or an interest in community services are advantageous. Don't worry if you don't have these; Yooralla offers training and support, and can help you work and study simultaneously. Transferable skills are also welcome.
You will be subject to an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
