Job Description
This is an integral position responsible for leading a portfolio of civil and road-related upgrade and maintenance projects, and the leadership of a team.
Civil engineering, consulting, and project management skills are required in day-to-day project work and in the leadership and supervision of a team to deliver this work.
The Project Lead will work collaboratively across departments to deliver projects successfully and meet objectives. A strong focus on leadership, project delivery, safety and quality are paramount.
Responsibilities
 * Leads a team in the provision of specialist civil engineering technical advice and consulting services.
 * Manages a portfolio of civil and road-related upgrade and maintenance projects to meet client expectations.
 * Identifies necessary resources needed to complete projects and allocates resources to deliver work.
 * Provides leadership, supervision, coaching and mentoring to the team for the safe and effective delivery of projects.
 * Reviews and critiques engineering data, deliverables, documentation, and other information as required for the project.
 * Establishes priorities to meet engineering and technical deadlines.
Requirements
A tertiary qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is required.
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Project or Civil Engineer in a related industry is essential.
Demonstrated experience in the management and leadership of teams is required.
Membership of Engineers Australia is desirable.
Skills and Knowledge
 * Well-developed conceptual, analytical, and planning skills are essential.
 * Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.
 * Computer literacy in Microsoft applications is necessary.
 * Client management, relations, and negotiation skills are critical.
 * Business administration processes and procedures including budgeting, procurement, cash-flow, accounting, employment and human resources are required.
