P&C Business Partner-Fast Paced, High Impact Environment - 264713

P&C Business Partner – Highly Unionised Workforce

About the role

Join UGL's Fuels & Energy East team as a P&C Business Partner in Southbank. This fast-paced role lets you coach and guide managers on effective people management, building strong relationships, and managing employee performance with confidence.

This isn't your typical corporate HR role – you'll be at the heart of the action, working closely with a traditional workforce and handling diverse people matters. From mobilisations and demobilisations to massive decommissioning projects (like never-before-seen decom work), this is a chance to be part of something big. If you're ready to stretch yourself, build a well-rounded career, and make a tangible impact, this is the role for you.

Why this role?

* P&C is recognised as an integral part of the business, giving you a seat at the table and the opportunity to influence real outcomes with responsive managers and a supportive GM.
* Manage the Victorian segment of UGL's FEE business, with a $300M+ turnover, supporting major clients to include Alcoa, Viva Energy, and the decommissioning of Esso's Bass Strait platforms, including CP1.
* You'll have plenty of variety and complexity with a busy workload and new projects constantly coming online, offering the chance to make the role your own.
* Be part of exciting, groundbreaking projects to include the decommissioning work in Bass Strait, a significant and first-of-its-kind challenge in Australia.
* While you'll need the confidence to work independently, there's always support when you need it.

Key responsibilities

* Supporting managers with tailored guidance, coaching, and best practices to handle performance, employee relations, and workforce scenarios.
* Oversee and assist with mobilisation, demobilisation, and project activities related to key workforce projects such as the unique decommissioning project in Bass Strait.
* Be visible and hands-on, building strong relationships with both the workforce and management.
* Traveling to project sites as required (1 night/month to Sale, day trips to Geelong).
* Actively participating in BAU operations while contributing to exciting new projects.

What we offer

* Enjoy hybrid work arrangements.
* Benefit from 16 weeks of paid primary parental leave.
* Complimentary salary continuance insurance.
* Discounted Medibank health insurance.
* Shape your career with an Individual Development Plan.
* Participate in our Wellness Program with AIA Vitality.
* Access our OneRewards Discount Program.

With new projects, strategic acquisitions, and a strong pipeline of work for the next 6+ years, it's an exciting time to join UGL's FEE business.

About you

* Experience in a similar role ideally within a heavy industry.
* Genuine interest in supporting and partnering with blue-collar workforce teams.
* Ability to confidently manage performance, advise managers on people strategies, and handle complex employee relations matters with sensitivity and tact.
* Willingness to travel once monthly (overnight to Sale) and on day trips (to Geelong).
* Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment where new projects and growth opportunities abound.
