Women's and Children's Health Network, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), North Adelaide (5006) Classification - AHP2 - Allied Health Professional L2 - $88,255 to $102,240 Employment Full time – (Temporary and Permanent positions available) The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, state-wide and hospital-based services for perinatal women. About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Child Protection & Advocacy team as a Social Worker/ Psychologist/ Clinical Psychologist, where you will be responsible for: Conduct forensic psychosocial assessments to evaluate the occurrence and impact of abuse or neglect, identify risk factors and caregiving challenges, and determine the need for therapeutic intervention. Carry out parenting assessments to examine adverse family dynamics, caregiver capacity, relationship quality, patterns of abuse or neglect, and potential for positive change. Prepare high-quality forensic assessment reports to support investigations and inform decisions regarding child safety, suitable for use across Youth, Family, and Criminal Court jurisdictions. Collaborate closely with referring agencies and health professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients. Provide a rapid crisis response service for both inpatient and outpatient referrals received by Child Protection Services. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Social Worker: Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Psychologist: Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Clinical Psychologist: Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia within an Endorsed Areas of Practice: Clinical. You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly, manage conflict, and liaise effectively with diverse professionals. You must demonstrate experience in comprehensive clinical assessments, high-quality report writing, and delivering psychological services to children, adolescents, and families affected by trauma. The role requires the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team, under pressure, and across various functions including assessment, therapy, and crisis intervention. A solid understanding of child protection and mental health frameworks, particularly within the South Australian context, is essential, along with knowledge of relevant legislation, ethical standards, and workplace practices.
