About the Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about Japanese cuisine, customer service, and maintaining a professional, high-performing workplace.
Key Responsibilities Lead the daily operation of our restaurant, ensuring smooth coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Manage and supervise a team of service and kitchen staff, fostering professionalism, efficiency, and genuine Japanese hospitality.
Work closely with the Chef to plan and refine menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and balancing creativity with cost control.
Oversee stock management, supplier coordination, and purchasing to ensure product quality and value within budget.
Maintain accurate business and financial records, including sales reports, rosters, and expense tracking.
Ensure the restaurant meets strict standards of food safety, hygiene, and WHS compliance at all times.
Engage with customers to gather feedback, resolve issues promptly, and enhance guest satisfaction.
Lead staff training, performance reviews, and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and service quality.
Plan and coordinate special functions and promotional activities to strengthen the restaurant's market presence.
Assist the Director with budgeting, financial management, and business development strategies.
Skills Experience Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality Management, or equivalent experience Minimum one year of experience in restaurant or hospitality management Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills Strong knowledge of cost control, stock management, and service quality standards Experience with Japanese Restaurant highly regarded Knowledge in filleting fish and handling Sashimi is highly recommended Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
