* Salary: Band 7 - $106,557.18 to $118,949.67 + superannuation

The opportunity

As Team Leader Financial Services, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting Council's financial integrity and performance. Working closely with the Coordinator Financial Accounting, you'll help deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, while overseeing core finance operations including accounts payable and receivable. You'll lead and coach a small, high performing team, ensuring excellent customer service, strong governance, and legislative compliance. This role suits a collaborative finance professional who enjoys combining hands on technical work with people leadership, and who thrives in a complex, community focused environment.

What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting delivery of Council's external financial reporting, including the audited Annual Financial Report
* Assisting with budget preparation, grants acquittals, performance reporting, and CFO reporting requirements
* Overseeing day to day financial operations, including reconciliations, journals, cash flow, and general ledger integrity
* Leading and supervising accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
* Ensuring monthly reconciliations, aged debtor reporting, and balance sheet integrity
* Providing specialist financial advice to support best practice, governance, and customer service outcomes
What You'll Need To Succeed
* Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, business, or a related discipline
* Strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting frameworks
* Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, reconciliations, and general ledger management
* Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop staff
* Experience working in a government or large, complex organisation (local government highly regarded)
