Job Title: Land Dealings Officer

Job Summary:
As a key member of our Governance team, the Land Dealings Officer will be responsible for managing land dealings and transactions related to Council's land portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the ongoing strategic review of Council's land assets
* Provide technical advice on Council's property portfolio
* Prepare briefings, reports and submissions on land tenure issues and projects
* Manage the compulsory land acquisition process and lead property transactions
* Investigate enquiries from the public related to land use
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications (AQF level 7 or above) in a relevant discipline (law, planning, land management, valuation); and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field
* Knowledge of legislature and regulatory frameworks as they relate to this position
* Strong communication skills with the ability to relate well to a variety of stakeholders
* Proven consultation and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience undertaking land transactions
* An awareness of the Native Title and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage land management
