NRS provide administration support services to four specialists, all Surgeons. Our Doctors consult from Lismore, Alstonville, Ballina and Maclean. They operate at Lismore Base Hospital, Ballina Memorial Hospital, Casino District Hospital and St Vincent's Private Hospital. The role In this role, you will act as a point-person for one of our busy General Surgeons. In partnership with another member of our admin team, together, you will manage the daily operations of this clinician’s diary including their consulting and operating schedules. As a highly knowledgeable and experienced administrator you will need to be able to lead, delegate, prioritise and empower. Responsibilities Manage appointment scheduling and operating lists, ensuring optimal utilisation of the surgeon's time. Greeting and assisting patients with a warm and courteous manner both in-person and on the phone. Professionally manage phone calls, emails, inquiries, referrals, confirmations and appointment changes. Prepare surgical quotes and coordinate payments and receipts. Provide pre and post operative information to patients. Actively communicate with your colleague to review, prioritise and share tasks to ensure the workload is managed quickly and efficiently. Supporting the surgeon with general administration and all other general medical administration tasks. Unrestricted drivers licence with a willingness to travel to consulting locations in Lismore, Alstonville, Ballina and Maclean. Experience and attributes 3 years working as a Senior Medical Administrator in a busy specialist medical clinic - surgical or specialist procedural practice would be highly regarded. Strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to manage competing priorities. Exposure to leading and training staff is an advantage. Detailed understanding of patient care, compliance, confidentiality and healthcare regulations in Australia is essential. In-depth knowledge of medical billing in relation to Medicare, DVA, MVA, private health funds and Workcover in both the public and private health settings is a must. On Offer Competitive salary ($30-$40 per hour) based on experience. Permanent part-time employment with the option of a 3 or 4 day working week.
