Position Overview
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full‐time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of motor vehicles in accordance with industry standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking, and electrical systems
* Dismantle, inspect, and remove engine assemblies, gearboxes, steering mechanisms, and related components
* Repair or replace worn or faulty parts using appropriate tools and techniques
* Reassemble mechanical components and conduct testing to ensure correct operation
* Perform scheduled servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and safety inspections
* Carry out roadworthy inspections and prepare detailed reports on vehicle condition
* Utilise diagnostic equipment and service manuals to accurately identify and rectify issues
* Tune, adjust, and test engines to maintain optimal performance and efficiency
* Maintain accurate service and repair records
* Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and associated costs
* Ensure all work complies with workplace safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Skills and Experience Required
* Minimum 1 year of experience working as a motor mechanic in a busy workshop, fleet or transport environment
* Trade certificate or equivalent qualification in automotive/mechanical servicing
* Strong understanding of vehicle mechanical systems, diagnostics, fault‐finding and repair processes
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to liaise with drivers, operations staff and suppliers
* Comfortable working to production demands and prioritising tasks to minimise vehicle downtime
* Valid Australian driver's license and own tools preferred
