Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania
Our Port Melbourne Hostel provides accommodation and care to older people who require assistance with daily living and personal care.
Your new role
Wintringham is currently seeking experienced and proactive individuals to join our tight-knit and friendly Domestic Services team at our Port Melbourne Hostel. There are multiple shifts available working on a 2 week roster. As a Domestic Services Assistant, you will be working across our cleaning, kitchen and laundry teams. Available shifts include:
Week 1: Monday (2 shifts available), Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0800-1600)
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday ,Friday (2 shifts available) (0800-1600), Saturday (0800 -1530) & Sunday (0800-1530)
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
* To clean resident rooms, common areas, office spaces, cleaners and staff room as scheduled
* To replenish & maintain stock levels
* Cleaning & Laundry duties as per schedule
* To ensure provision of clean laundry throughout the home at all times
* To assist with the preparation and serving of all Meals, Drinks and Snacks in the kitchenettes
We are looking for candidates with the following:
* Previous experience in a cleaning/laundry role – preferably in Aged Care/Health Care
* Excellent time management and organisation skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* A non-judgmental approach to working with people
* Qualifications and experience in food handling, infection control, manual handling and the use of cleaning chemicals (highly advantageous)
* Food Safety Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate (highly advantageous)
* Physically able to perform manual tasks including (but not limited to) bending & lifting
