We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen & Cleaning Assistant to join our team at our boutique aged care facility in Parkside.
This hands-on role combines kitchen and cleaning responsibilities, perfect for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of hygiene, supports quality meal service, and contributes to a safe, welcoming environment for our residents.
You'll be part of a supportive and dedicated team that makes a real difference every day.
Role: Cook & Kitchen Assistant (Casual – Parkside)
To be successful in this role:
* Have experience in food preparation and cooking, with a good understanding of hygiene and safety procedures
* Prepare and serve meals that meet residents' preferences and dietary requirements
* Assist with menu planning and ensure meals are nutritious and appealing
* Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen and dining area
* Carry out general cleaning duties including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitising high-touch areas
* Follow infection control practices and safety procedures at all times
* Manage your time effectively to complete tasks promptly and efficiently
* Be reliable, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
* Demonstrate empathy and respect when supporting residents and colleagues
* Be adaptable to changing needs and able to handle busy periods calmly
Essentials:
* National Police Clearance (no older than 2 years)
* Up-to-date Influenza vaccination
* Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
Desirable:
* Previous experience in aged care or a fast-paced environment
