About the Role
We are recruiting a Strategic Business Development Director to lead and execute the organisation’s business development strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO, this newly created leadership role will focus on securing national contracts, expanding client relationships, and strengthening market share in the green space services sector.
You’ll lead a high-performing business development and marketing team and work closely with Operations, Bid Services, and the Executive Leadership Team. The position also includes exposure to the Board.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a national growth strategy to drive new business acquisition and market expansion
* Build and manage a high-value pipeline of opportunities through targeted campaigns, referrals, and networking
* Lead and mentor a results-driven BD and marketing team, setting clear KPIs and performance objectives
* Oversee high-quality proposal and marketing material development to support new business wins
* Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Marketing, Bid Services) to ensure service alignment with client needs
* Build relationships with key external stakeholders, including clients and partners, and engage regularly with the Board
* Drive CRM strategy to ensure accurate pipeline reporting and data-led decision making
What We’re Looking For
* Extensive strategic senior business development experience, ideally in B2B services or environmental/landscape-focused sectors
* Proven ability to secure large national accounts and deliver revenue growth
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams
* Strategic mindset with the ability to translate growth goals into actionable plans
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including Board-level engagement
* Proficiency in CRM (Hubspot preferred) and performance tracking
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
