The University of Tasmania is a pioneer in innovative research projects that foster connections between people and nature. This Research Associate role offers the opportunity to contribute to the Nature Connection Storytelling Project, a groundbreaking initiative that explores how Australians experience and connect with nature in everyday life.

In this pivotal position, you'll guide the project through a dynamic phase of growth, applying your expertise in qualitative research, project coordination, and community collaboration to deliver meaningful outcomes and shape the future of nature-connected research. As part of the National Environmental Science Program (NESP), the project blends social research, creative practice, and community engagement to inform policy across environmental, health, and social domains.

Job Description:

* Conduct qualitative research methods such as interviews, focus groups, thematic analysis, and ethnography
* Administer projects with strong backgrounds in project management

Requirements:

Key Skills and Qualifications:

* Strong understanding of research in the fields of social enquiry and nature connection
* Experience in grant writing and managing funded projects (including report writing and funding acquittals)
* Able to build and maintain effective and productive networks with the discipline, profession, and wider community
* Hold a PhD qualification in a relevant field
