Vipac Engineers & Scientists Ltd is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Brisbane-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a group of experts specialising in industrial vibration, structural dynamics, and structural design.

About Us

Vipac is a respected, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy operating across Australia. We deliver specialised services in vibration, acoustics, pressure/pulsation, structural design, and other key engineering fields to a broad range of sectors, including infrastructure, oil & gas, defence, mining, industrial, and commercial projects.

Note that this role is not suitable for candidates with only machine condition monitoring backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform dynamic analysis of skid mounted equipment.
* Perform engineering acoustical and mechanical studies on compressor packages.
* Conduct field measurement surveys and on-site measurements for new or existing facilities at clients' sites.
* Collect vibration, strain, and pulsation measurements to identify sources of concerns.
* Perform field data analysis and post-processing.
* Conduct root cause analysis and provide actionable engineering solutions.
* Apply industry vibration guidelines, codes and standards criteria in the preparation of design recommendations.
* Produce timely and detailed technical reports including recommendations for reducing vibration and improving overall design.
* Work effectively as a multi-disciplinary project team member.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships with the desire of exceeding expectations.
* Demonstrate effective client engagement, problem solving, effective communication, passion, and excellent technical knowledge.
* Travel for fieldwork as required.

Qualifications:

* A degree in Mechanical Engineering (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
* A minimum of 5 years' practical experience.
* RPEQ Accreditation is highly regarded.
* Field experience in industrial, mining, or oil & gas environments, with a focus on safety.
* Experience in the application of strain gauging and multichannel data acquisition is considered an asset.
* Training in Vibration Analysis (e.g. VCAT 2 or equivalent) is a strong asset.
* Familiarity with proprietary measurement and diagnostic systems (Dewesoft, NI, ADRE, etc).
* Knowledge with industry guideline and standards related to vibration assessments (i.e., ISO 8528, ISO 20816, VDI 3836, API 617, API 618, API 674, EI Guidelines, etc).
* Previous experience in client-facing or project engineering roles.
