**Job Description:**
As a junior solicitor, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient legal advisory services and advocacy to support the Commissioner of State Revenue in matters arising from Acts administered by the State Revenue Office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct your own litigation and advice case-load with supportive legal supervision
* Prepare and conduct cases for litigation at VCAT and the Courts
* Brief and instruct counsel at interlocutory proceedings and substantive hearings
You will have the opportunity to utilize and further develop your advisory and litigation skills, while undertaking meaningful legal work under the mentorship and guidance of experienced solicitors in a collaborative team environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have been admitted as an Australian lawyer, between 1-3 years post admission employment experience as an Australian lawyer in the public or private sector, with knowledge of/experience in litigation, court, tribunal and legislative processes. You will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound decision making and problem-solving skills.
