About the Role
This position requires a professional with expertise in disaster management and emergency services. The Area Controller will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the operational service delivery plan, providing strategic advice on response planning arrangements, and leading the delivery of operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Disaster Management: Develop and implement disaster management plans, provide strategic advice, and lead the delivery of operational outcomes.
* Human Resources: Manage human resources, financial, and asset management functions effectively.
* Collaboration: Drive and deliver outcomes in partnership with staff from local government, other agencies, authorities, Indigenous communities, and community groups.
* Community Education: Support the delivery of community education and awareness programs.
Requirements
* Mandatory: Minimum C Class Driver's Licence (non-restricted).
* Desirable: Experience as a volunteer or within a volunteer environment.
Working Conditions
This role involves working in a dynamic disaster/emergency management environment, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The Area Controller may be required to undertake intra and interstate deployments, including travel to rural and remote communities.
