About Josiah College

Josiah is a multi-denominational Christian school in Carrara, Gold Coast, that nurtures, inspires and enables students to flourish. Our Autism-friendly setting provides the framework for students on the Autism Spectrum to access the Australian Curriculum with unique support and individualised learning programs.

Our Josiah Compass guides and informs all areas of our practice to underpin our values and our pastoral care. We strive to provide the opportunity for social, educational and vocational pathways for students on the Autism Spectrum. The learning for these students will be delivered primarily in a specialist setting on campus, with the opportunity to access the community and vocational training centres over the course of the senior years. Senior students work towards achieving a QCE upon graduation.

Our staff work together to assist our students in achieving success. This involves building strong respectful relationships with students while utilising behaviour management techniques to maintain the expectations of the classroom. It also involves working closely with educational assistants and utilising their abilities in the classroom to support the students.

We look for staff who demonstrate excellence in their field, who are prepared to commit wholeheartedly to the values and ethos of the College, and who confess to a personal Christian faith.
