ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced qualified accountant
to help implement the company's financial strategy.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will be responsible for ensuring the financial health of the business by optimising financial controls, processes and managing external consultants to achieve maximum efficiency the finance function. Duties include month end close, tax review, GST/WHT/Payroll Tax submission, payroll oversight and process improvement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting, Control & Compliance
* Oversee outsourced finance service providers and ensure SLA compliance
* Oversee outsourced payroll service providers
* Develop and maintain robust financial controls and ensure reporting integrity
* Prepare, review, and reconcile financial statements in alignment with Australia and international accounting standards
* Identify and mitigate financial risks while ensuring compliance with ASIC regulations and company policies
* Support documentation and reporting aligned with AFSL conditions, including risk disclosures and governance protocol
* Lead audit and tax, coordinate with external consultants, and ensure timely regulatory submissions
Process & System Improvement
* Enhance finance processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
* Support system implementations, automating reporting and reconciliation
* Document SOPs to ensure operational consistency and best practices
* Collaborate cross-functionally to drive cost savings and workflow optimization
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, CA or CPA
* Minimum 5 years of experience in financial operations and reporting. Industry experience in real estate and familiarity with Oracle NetSuite preferred
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
* Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams
* In-depth knowledge of Australia's accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
* Familiarity with AFSL licensing requirements and ASIC regulatory frameworks for financial services and investment management
