About the Role
Predominantly based in the Barossa and reporting to the Executive Director – Group Commercial (CFO), this role supports the organisation's long-term financial sustainability through accurate financial recording and transparent reporting. It upholds corporate and regulatory compliance requirements while delivering commercial insights and financial guidance that enable sound decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across Group and business units.
* Oversee statutory accounts preparation and coordinate year-end audits, maintaining compliance and transparency.
* Manage the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting systems to ensure accuracy, relevance, and integrity.
* Provide financial guidance on taxation, treasury, insurance, and internal audit matters to support informed business decisions.
* Direct cashflow management and daily banking operations, optimising liquidity and funding for the business.
* Oversee fixed asset accounting, ensuring correct treatment and accurate reporting in line with accounting standards.
* Supervise Accounts Payable and related processes, driving efficiency, compliance, and robust internal controls.
* Support ESG reporting, cost accounting, and continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing team capability and business insights.
* Responsible for, with the assistance of the Group Credit Manager, the group's Accounts Receivable function.
* AI and Climate reporting
* Identify opportunities for automation, system improvements, and process simplification to strengthen reporting accuracy and decision-making.
About You
You are a qualified accountant (CA or CPA) with strong experience in financial accounting, ideally within FMCG or wine sectors. You bring commercial acumen and a proven ability to lead and develop teams, mentoring colleagues to achieve their goals.
You excel at reviewing complex financial reports, identifying key issues, and communicating outcomes to non-financial stakeholders. Highly accurate and detail-oriented, you proactively identify process improvements, drive change, and handle sensitive information with integrity.
