We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Compliance Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our operations are in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
About the Role
The Compliance Officer will play a critical role in identifying, developing, and deploying material risk critical controls for our operations. This includes associated engineering standards. They will also articulate the impact of regulatory changes to key stakeholders and the wider organization.
The Compliance Officer will provide confidence to senior leadership regarding future decision making for our mining operation. They will remain proactive and aware of changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, Develop, and Deploy Controls: Identify, develop, and deploy material risk critical controls for the operations, including associated engineering standards;
* Articulate Regulatory Changes: Articulate the impact of regulatory changes to key stakeholders and the wider organisation;
* Provide Confidence: Provide confidence to the SLT and ELT regarding future decision making for the mining operation;
* Maintain Awareness: Remain proactive and aware of changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards at all times;
* Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with the regulator/regulatory body;
* Create and Oversee Compliance Framework: Create, implement, and oversee a compliance framework and measures to ensure effective outcomes in accordance with applicable legislation;
* Audit and Assessment: Conduct periodic audits and assessments to identify and address compliance risks;
Requirements
* Certificate of Competency: Must possess the Mining Engineering Manager (Stat Manager) Certificate of Competency for UG Hardrock NSW;
* Years of Experience: 10+ years' experience in underground hardrock operations;
* Background: A Tech Services/Mining Engineering background would be held in high regard;
* Liaising with Authorities: Experience liaising with regulatory authorities;
* Residency: Must live/work/reside in AU. Must have full working AU rights;
