About the team
The Governance and Assurance Directorate is comprised of functions that promote and uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability across SafeWork NSW by ensuring governance, assurance, and regulatory obligations are met with consistency and confidence. The Directorate works across SafeWork NSW, including alignment with the SafeWork NSW Commissioner and Senior Executives to support SafeWork NSW in delivering a strong, transparent and accountable regulator for safe and healthy workplaces in NSW.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Governance and Assurance, this role provides quality executive and administrative support to the Director and the broader Directorate in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Records management; organising papers and logistics for meetings and forums
- Procurement and finance processes
- Recruitment processes
- Organising and coordinating travel arrangements
- Preparation of correspondence and reports; managing emails and calendars
- Data entry and analysis
- Developing, implementing and monitoring systems, policies and procedures to facilitate efficient Directorate operations
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- Model and promote the highest standards of integrity and accountability
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in a complex, high-profile regulatory environment
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively, courteously and confidentially with internal and external stakeholders, including in relation to sensitive or contentious issues
- Have strong time management and organisational skills to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment, exercising discretion, flexibility and sound decision-making
- Exhibit excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and escalate emerging issues or trends
An understanding of the NSW WHS regulatory framework and prior experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
