Job Title: Horticultural Operations Manager

About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Horticulturalist to lead our team as a Site Supervisor. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient daily operation of our garden and landscape facility, including customer service, product presentation, and adherence to safety protocols.

Main Responsibilities:

* Maintain a culture of safety first, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, with a focus on operational and workplace health, safety, and environment (WHS) management systems.
* Oversee the safe and efficient daily operation, including customer service, negotiation with suppliers, and maintaining optimum product conditions.
* Manage staff, approve timesheets, participate in recruitment, and provide training and feedback to ensure a motivated and well-prepared team.
* Efficiently allocate tasks to staff based on their strengths and expertise, ensuring smooth daily operations.
* Provide valuable insights and suggestions for plant ordering, contributing to the diverse and appealing product range.
* Cultivate strong and positive relationships with suppliers to enhance product quality and availability.
* Responsible for Sales Loader Operations.
* Perform yard duties as and when required.

Key Selection Criteria:

* A relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture or appropriate industry training courses.
* A minimum two years horticulture and supervisory experience.
* A valid MR Truck Driver License or willingness to obtain one.
* Previous experience operating a sales loader is preferable.
* The ability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience with Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems.
* A strong work ethic, organisational and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work in a team environment and promoting a culture of teamwork.
