About the role
We have an opportunity for an Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer (ACLO) to be part of the Crime Prevention Unit at Eastern Beaches Police Area Command.
The ACLO position is responsible for providing advice and support to the Command in the management of local Aboriginal issues. The position assists in establishing and maintaining close personal rapport with Elders, Leaders, and members of the Aboriginal community by developing network contacts to strengthen cooperation and communication, and to assist community members in their dealing with local policing issues and their contact with other statutory bodies.
The Eastern Beaches Command is in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney with Maroubra as it’s centre. The Command is geographically large stretching from Clovelly to La Perouse. The area includes major facilities including the Long Bay Correctional Centre, The University of NSW, the Randwick Racecourse, Centennial Park, and a major hospital. The Local Aboriginal Land Council is situated in the La Perouse area. The Command comprises of both administrative and sworn police positions across a diverse range of roles. It is accessible via public transport and there is free untimed on-street parking a short walk away.

Applicants must hold a current driver’s licence with no traffic offences recorded on their driving history within the last six (6) months or NSW Police Force Bronze Certification.
