Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health ChildAre you a passionate and dedicated Community Mental Health Nurse seeking a challenging role where your expertise can make a significant difference? We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team at Western Australia Country Health Service.As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering community-based mental health care to complex clients within the Great Southern region. Your responsibilities will encompass assessment, planning, case management, and the delivery of high-quality clinical mental health services. This position allows you to work closely with clients and their families and provides opportunities to influence clinical practice standards and policies.Key Responsibilities:Provide clinical expertise in the assessment and management of children and adolescents facing complex mental health challenges.Develop and evaluate clinical practice standards and policies for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service programs.Coordinate clinical quality improvement, best practice initiatives, and risk management activities within the team.Facilitate effective working relationships with General Hospitals, GPs, and non-government organizations.Offer professional support, supervision, and mentorship to nursing and clinical staff, fostering their professional development.Act as a resource for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, providing expert consultancy and guidance to referring and associated agencies.Ideal Candidate:Extensive and recent experience as a Community Mental Health Nurse with demonstrated expert-level skills in crisis intervention, assessment, treatment, and case management of children and adolescents with complex mental disorders.Advanced knowledge and ability to initiate and manage interventions under the Mental Health Act 2014 and in line with National Mental Health Standards.Demonstrated negotiation, problem-solving, analytical, and conflict resolution skills in a community setting.Demonstrated clinical leadership skills, including providing clinical supervision and performance development with staff.Ability to work independently or with other health professionals within a multidisciplinary team.To learn more about the role, please refer to the attached Job Description Form and contact Grant Giblett at 98922440.About UsThe WA Country Health Service’s core business is providing quality, accessible health services to people from large regional centers to small remote communities.Our vision is to be a global leader in rural and remote healthcare.Our values of Community, Compassion, Quality, Integrity, Equity, and Curiosity shape who we are, how we behave, how we interact, make decisions, and provide care to our patients.About the REGIONThe Great Southern region is located on the south coast of Western Australia, adjoining the Southern Ocean, with a coastline extending approximately 500 km.
