Job Description:

Contribute to the conservation of Australian native plants in a diverse and dynamic environment. As a skilled horticulturist, you will play a crucial role in propagating thousands of plant species and contributing to the management of nursery horticultural infrastructure.

The role involves undertaking regular nursery maintenance tasks, including mechanical plant and horticultural equipment operation, as well as maintaining accurate plant collection records using databases and other tracking mechanisms.
\
You will work cooperatively in a small team environment, adhering to nursery operating procedures, and contribute to managing horticultural infrastructure to ensure its capability and programming reflect horticultural objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in growing a diverse range of Australian plants in a nursery environment.
\
2. Experience in identifying pests, disease, and plant nutrition issues and implementing management strategies in a nursery setting.
\
3. Understanding of horticultural controlled environment systems in a plant nursery.
\
4. Record keeping competency, including accuracy in plant stock control and cultivated specimen management.
\
5. Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a small team in horticultural operations.
\
6. Certificate IV in Horticulture or equivalent.
\
7. Australian citizenship.
