Role Description
We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant for a full-time, on-site position based in the North Sydney. The successful candidate will perform diverse accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, preparing BAS/IAS, payroll management, and financial analysis. This role requires close collaboration with clients to ensure the utmost accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. You will also assist with compliance, tax reporting, and ongoing client engagement.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in financial accounting, including preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, and BAS/IAS preparation.
* Strong understanding of accounting software and cloud-based systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks).
* Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management.
* Ability to perform financial analysis and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
* Excellent communication skills for client interaction and reporting.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in financial work is a must.
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required; progress toward a CPA or CA qualification is highly desirable.
* Prior experience within the hospitality, allied health, or retail industries is advantageous.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
* At least two years of experience in a public practice environment is required
