The RoleOperating from the Hydrographic Support Unit (HSU) within the Hydrometric Operations team, you will be part of a small technical team developing measurement and monitoring solutions to support the Department's water management, planning and compliance business. You will deliver, evaluate, and document technical solutions that enhance water measurement and monitoring capability across Queensland. Key Accountabilities-Design, test, and implement lower-cost and alternative measurement options to improve water resource monitoring efficiency and accuracy.-Install, maintain, calibrate, assemble, test, and repair technical equipment associated with water monitoring data collection systems.-Conduct research and prepare technical reports, correspondence, and briefings related to water resource measurement programs.-Provide technical field support for products and systems delivered under water measurement programs.-Utilise data analytics tools to process, analyse, and interpret water monitoring data for evidence-based decision-making.-Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture and maintain high safety standards in all operational activities. About You-Degree qualification in Science, Applied Science, Engineering (Technology) or Natural Resource Management (mandatory).-Current 'C Class' driver's licence.-Hands-on technical skills with water-monitoring instrumentation, including installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation.-Experience in data analytics for environmental or hydrometric data.-Strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills with a commitment to continuous learning.
