About The Role
Our client, a well-established restaurant in Adelaide, is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. This hands-on role requires a balance of leadership, organisation, and service excellence. It is a full-time position based on a flexible rotating roster, with occasional extended hours during peak periods (e.g., weekends, holidays).
Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and guest satisfaction.
* Maintain a clean, warm, and welcoming environment.
* Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations.
* Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS systems.
* Lead, train, and supervise front-of-house and support staff.
* Prepare rosters in line with business needs and manage staffing levels.
* Foster a positive team culture and resolve minor staff conflicts and performance issues.
* Act as the primary point of contact for customer feedback and resolve complaints professionally and promptly.
* Monitor stock levels and place orders for food, beverages, and supplies.
* Work with the business owner on cost control, budgeting, and reporting.
* Provide weekly reports on sales, labour, customer feedback, and operational insights.
* Collaborate with the owner on menu updates, marketing promotions, and service improvements.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a restaurant or hospitality management role.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Solid understanding of restaurant operations, stock control, and basic financials.
* Hands-on and adaptable approach to managing challenges.
* Passionate about food, customer service, and delivering a positive dining experience.
* Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
* Experience in a family-friendly or casual dining environment.
* Familiarity with POS systems and staff rostering software.
Qualification Requirements
* RSA certification and knowledge of SA liquor licensing regulations.
* Food Safety Supervisor certificate (preferred but not required).
