About the Role
Step into a hands‐on, high‐impact role where no two days are the same. As a Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist Anaesthetist you will deliver high‐quality anaesthetic care across theatre lists including endoscopy, general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, dental and investigative services. Your expertise will also shine in pre‐anaesthetic clinics, acute ward rounds for high‐acuity patients and in leading critical care within the High Dependency Unit.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‐quality anaesthetic care across theatre lists (endoscopy, general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, dental and investigative services).
* Serve in pre‐anaesthetic clinics, acute ward rounds for high‐acuity patients and provide critical care leadership within the High Dependency Unit.
* Manage airways, provide ventilatory support, central access, pain management and coordinate patient transfers with Retrieval Services Queensland.
* Shape quality and safety initiatives, audit practice, and contribute to risk management and service improvement.
* Mentor medical staff and students, contribute to multidisciplinary care and represent the service on committees.
* Join the after‐hours roster and support the regional anaesthetic service.
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent, eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Anaesthesia with AHPRA; Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) is mandatory.
* If not holding FANZCA, application must be accompanied by an assessment of specialist qualification and requirements to attain FANZCA.
* Enrolment and ongoing CPD programme of the appropriate College is desirable.

* Remuneration up to $557,878 per annum, comprising a salary rate between $216,643–$251,642 (L18–L24) or $259,072–$274,678 (L25–L27) per annum.
