An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the Workforce Advisory and Services as a Human Resources Consultant. You will provide high quality human resource management advisory services and project services whilst ensuring compliance with industrial and legislative provisions.

The Workforce Advisory and Services Team enables people-focused, operationally excellent workforce outcomes across CHHHS. Through trusted partnerships, expert advice, and seamless service delivery, the team empowers leaders and staff to navigate workplace matters confidently—from recruitment and onboarding to performance, rostering, and HR compliance. By embedding capability, consistency, and care into every interaction, the team drives a connected and responsive workforce experience.

About your role:
* Provide general Human Resource and Employee Relations advice and support to management and employees within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service across a broad range of human resource management disciplines.
* Effectively manage human resource management casework and project work, under the guidance of the Senior Human Resource Consultant. Key focus areas include grievances and investigations; appeals; discipline; anti-discrimination, equity and diversity; voluntary early retirement and ill health retirement; and strategies to promote a supportive work environment, positive work culture and improved capacity to manage work/life balance in client group.
* Utilise and ensure compliance with contemporary human resource management practice and principles including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination requirements.
