About Us:

Hopkins Correctional Centre (HCC) is a medium security male prison facility located in Ararat. The prison has a capacity of 798 prisoners and is focused on preparing prisoners for their transition back into the community. Vocational Services includes manufacturing and service industries along with reintegration programs, Aboriginal services and prisoner education services.

About the Role:

The Business Support Officer provides administrative support to the vocational services team working in partnership with other administrative support services within the operating environment.

This role does work directly with prisoners in individual and group settings. Training is provided to support people to develop confidence to work within a correctional environment.

Some of your duties will include:

* Assisting the Vocational Services Management team to coordinate and implement the staff roster.
* Administering office systems, including the development and maintenance of procedures, governance frameworks and compliance measures.
* Preparing correspondence, business cases, and reports for the Vocational Services Management Team, providing analyses and recommendations for continuous improvement where appropriate.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

* Experience in delivery and development of administration systems.
* Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the constraints of working within a correctional environment.
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
