**About the opportunity**
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) leads the University's strategy for teaching, learning, and the student experience. This includes institution-wide initiatives such as curriculum quality and sustainability, enhancing student engagement, assessment reform and AI, learning analytics, student success, student support and quality assurance.
We are seeking to appoint a Pro Vice-Chancellor, Curriculum Futures, to lead the development of a curriculum that is academically rigorous, future-focused, sustainable and aligned with graduate outcomes, student aspirations, and the needs of industry and the community.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Curriculum Futures will provide academic leadership for the Sydney Curriculum Program, ensuring alignment with the University's Teaching and Learning strategy and driving quality and sustainability in curriculum design. They will work with others to explore and develop new models for curriculum delivery and will be the Portfolio's lead in Western Sydney developments.
This senior academic leader will collaborate across faculties, schools, and professional units to enhance student experience and foster an inclusive, high-quality curriculum. The role includes oversight of the University's employment services and, in partnership with the Vice-President, External Engagement, strengthening industry and community ties to expand Work Integrated Learning opportunities.
**About you**
- Extensive experience in leading innovative curriculum design and educational reform aligned with institutional strategy and sector priorities
- Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, evaluate and adapt strategic initiatives in a changing higher education and industry environment
- A strong record of academic excellence in teaching and/or research, underpinned by a commitment to continuous improvement and quality enhancement
- Proven success in building and sustaining high-impact partnerships with industry, community, and external stakeholders to enrich educational outcomes
- A track record of leading large-scale change, managing high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
- A strong record of leadership and management of an academic unit and clear evidence of an ability to work at University level
- Financial and operational acumen, including experience in strategic planning, resource allocation, and budget oversight
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-informed approach to strategic decision-making
- Deep knowledge of the higher education landscape, ideally gained within a large, research-intensive institution.
