Engage Abilities is a registered service provider of the NDIS as well as a service provider for the Department of Communities and Justice through the Casework Support Scheme (CSS).
We are currently recruiting **4 Youth Workers on a casual basis to cover shifts in the Western Sydney area (afternoon shifts).**
**Your duties**:
As a Youth Worker, you support children and young people who may have significant challenges and trauma such as alcoholism, homelessness, domestic violence or abuse.
The shift consists of supervising contact between children and their families around the Blacktown area. Your priority is to keep children and teenagers safe, ensure their needs are met and aid them in their development.
The successful applicants will be required to work in accordance with our code of conduct, relevant procedures and our policies.
**Skills and knowledge**:
- Experience working with youth (paid or volunteer roles : youth worker, teacher, mentor, sports coach...) or currently studying Social work, community services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build strong and trusting rapport with children and young people
- Able to proactively assess risks and solve problems
- Excellent professional boundaries
- A positive role model
- Resilient and flexible in your approach
- Ability to work in high-stress situations
- A driver's license with full comprehensive car insurance is required.

**Experience**:
- Youth work/Sport coach, etc.. (volunteer or paid role): 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
