The Role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care Service. As a vital team member, you will provide high‐quality nursing support and ensure that all patients who present to the Urgent Care Service are identified as appropriate, triaged promptly, and given front‐line care in collaboration with our Urgent Care Medical Practitioner.

Your Responsibilities

* Be the first point of contact for patients in urgent care – take charge of triaging each individual with accuracy, empathy, and confidence.
* Conduct thorough and precise nursing triage – quickly assess patient needs and prioritise care to achieve the best outcomes.
* Act decisively in critical moments – identify and elevate emergencies or patient deterioration promptly to safeguard health.
* Perform hands‐on procedural care such as suturing and plastering, expanding your expertise in a fast‐paced environment.
* Adapt to a dynamic, ever‐changing setting – demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to respond to the unique challenges of urgent care.
* Deliver compassionate, patient‐centred care – collaborate closely with patients, families, carers, and medical practitioners for a supportive experience.
* Support and guide patients toward their best clinical outcomes.
* Provide essential health information that equips patients to take charge of their wellbeing.
* Maintain meticulous documentation – complete all patient records accurately and promptly to support continuity of care.
* Champion workplace health and safety by actively participating in safety initiatives and reporting incidents or hazards.

About You

* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Must be available evenings and weekends.
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
* Experience in any one of the following:
o 3 years in an Emergency Department setting.
o 3 years of triage experience.
o 3 years of experience in ICU, CCU, rural or remote nursing.
* Advanced triage experience in an emergency department or remote nursing is preferred.
* Will provide a Working with Children's check and National Police check if not already obtained.
* Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and to escalatably appropriate.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work autonomously and delegate when appropriate.
* A passion for patient‐centred care and a personable approach.
