Job Type: Maximum Term Full-Time working 38 hours per week

Salary: $113,691.33‐118,710.13 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation. (pro‐rata for part‐time employment)

About the role

The First Nations Network Development Lead will strengthen, expand and support culturally grounded networks, partnerships and capability across the program. The role provides specialist leadership to ensure First Nations voices, perspectives and lived experience inform program design, delivery and continuous improvement. Working closely with ACCOs, community leaders and internal teams, the position leads initiatives that build cultural safety, enhance staff capability and improve outcomes for First Nations children, families and communities. The role develops and delivers training, resources and engagement strategies that elevate First Nations leadership and support effective collaboration across the sector. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Lead ensures all work aligns with organisational values, reconciliation commitments and quality and safeguarding requirements.

This role will support transformation initiatives that embed cultural governance and strengthen relationships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) in line with Closing the Gap Priority Reforms.

Core Responsibilities
* Strategic Partnerships & Network DevelopmentStrengthen and coordinate First Nations providers across the HIPPY Network, fostering culturally grounded relationships with ACCOs, Elders and community partners, and supporting new partnership and capacity‐building opportunities.
* Capability Building, Training & ResourcesDesign and deliver culturally informed training, professional learning and resources, ensuring alignment with evidence, cultural safety principles and organisational priorities.Lead and manage First Nations‐focused projects, monitoring delivery, risks and quality to maintain fidelity, cultural integrity and continuous improvement.
* Cultural Advice & Organisational InfluenceProvide strategic cultural insight to guide planning, policy and programs, and support reconciliation, cultural safety and inclusion frameworks across the organisation.
* Community Engagement & Sector RepresentationRepresent the organisation in sector forums and community settings, lead co‐design and engagement processes, and share emerging insights impacting First Nations children, families and communities.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

* Relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience, in Early Childhood, Community Development, Human Services and relevant disciplines such as Social Sciences and Education.
* Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and ACCOs, with a strong commitment to self‐determination and cultural safety.
* Proven ability to lead and deliver complex programmes, including understanding of Closing the Gap reforms, workforce development, compliance, risk and data‐informed improvement.
* Highly developed leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, navigate change and ensure safe, inclusive outcomes for children and families.
* This role requires regular travel and attendance at multiple work locations as part of operational and stakeholder engagement responsibilities.
