Your Role
As Demi Chef, you’ll support the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen team in the preparation and service of high-end, seasonal menus. You’ll rotate through various sections of the kitchen, developing your culinary skills in both à la carte and degustation formats. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role where quality, consistency, and teamwork are paramount.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of refined seafood and produce-led dishes
- Maintain a clean and well-organised section throughout service
- Follow plating guides and ensure consistent execution under pressure
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and WH&S; standards
- Participate in daily prep, mise en place, and station organisation
- Support junior team members and assist with training when required
What We’re Looking For
You’re a motivated and ambitious chef who thrives in fast-paced, high-end kitchens. You bring strong attention to detail, a great work ethic, and a passion for learning and refinement in your craft.
To Be Successful, You Will Need:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Essential)
- 1–2 years of experience in a luxury or high-end restaurant (preferred)
- Understanding of refined plating, station maintenance, and HACCP procedures
- Passion for quality ingredients, modern Australian cuisine, and sustainability
- Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible roster including nights, weekends, and event service
- Valid working rights in Australia
- Open manual driver’s licence (preferred)
