Digital Communications Advisor opportunity Approx. $55-$65 per hour plus Super dependent on experience Assignment duration is up to a period of 4 months. Immediate Start South East suburbs location About the role: Local government body requires an experienced Digital Communications Advisor to join them on a short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 4 months based in the south east suburbs of Victoria. As the Digital Communications Advisor, you will support the management of the council’s website and social media channels to enhance its digital presence and engagement with the local community, and to raise awareness about the range of services and facilities council provides. Key Accountabilities Key tasks and responsibilities will include: Supporting the development and production of creative and engaging communication materials to inform staff about key organisational messages and activities Providing support for the effective operation and administration of council’s website and social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram Establishing and coordinate a content calendar to assist in the strategic planning of social media activities. Creating, curating and managing content to effectively engage audiences and communicate key messages about the council, its services, facilities and initiatives through a range of channels including social media, website, video and other multi-media. Coordinating advertising activities through council’s social media channels Monitoring and responding to social media comments and use analytics and data to evaluate and enhance communication activities and monitor community sentiment Key Selection Criteria Knowledge and skills that you will need to demonstrate include: Ability to engage audiences and communicate key messages through a range of channels including social media, websites, video and other multi-media Demonstrated experience in the operation and administration of websites and social media channels including Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram Communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly articulate and present information as required Understanding of emerging trends to ensure recommendations made influence the outcomes for the community and organisation now and into the future Able to work with minimum supervision and make sound decisions based on experience and good judgement Knowledge and experience of policies, procedures and relevant acts and regulations including privacy, information management and social media Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field such as digital communications, communications, or content management Relevant previous experience in a local government environment is preferred A current Victorian Drivers licence How to apply Please apply online using the appropriate link below forwarding a copy of your resume highlighting your digital communications experience, your Drupal CMS experience, and your suitability for the role.
