It develops a mix of discipline knowledge, academic English and study skills in a supportive, flexible and learner-centred environment. It aims to assist students to become independent, critical and lifelong learners and to maximise their potential for success in an Australian university context.About the RoleIn this position, you will be responsible for the teaching delivery of one or more Business based units - Global Studies, Law and Society, Marketing and Communication and Principles of Economics. Duties include assessment, monitoring academic progress of students, contributing to the development of the Foundation Studies curriculum and providing an outstanding student experience.Course Descriptions:Here are the course descriptions for subjects taught in the Foundation Studies program in RMIT UP Foundation Studies - Plan FS022BUS - RMIT University (Click "View Plan")About YouTo be successful in this position you will have:EssentialA recognised degree relevant to the course being taught plus:A formal qualification in the delivery of education ORMinimum two years’ relevant teaching experience, including breadth of experience in delivering to students from non-English speaking backgrounds.Effective interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated skills and experience in delivering and assessing both in face-to-face and online classes (using a Learning Management System such as Canvas and Microsoft Teams).Substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.Capacity to identify learning problems in students, propose and implement effective strategies.Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.VIT registration or Current Working with Children Clearance.DesirableExperience teaching other tertiary or secondary school subjects.Experience teaching international students in a tertiary or secondary school settingNot required for non-English unitsProven collegiality and the ability to share ideasKnowledge of current pedagogical practicesWhat we offer youWe value our people and are committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and rewarding work environment.
